Common Questions
How does online counselling work?
Online counselling allows you to access professional, personalised support from wherever you feel most comfortable.
Sessions take place via a secure video platform, offering a private and convenient way to connect without the need to travel.
Just find a quiet, comfortable space where you feel at ease, and we can connect from there. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.
What is your privacy policy?
Your privacy and confidentiality are incredibly important to me.
Everything you share during counselling is treated with care, respect and confidentiality, in accordance with professional and ethical guidelines.
There are some important exceptions to confidentiality, such as situations involving serious safety concerns or legal obligations. These will be explained clearly during our first session, so you know what to expect and can feel comfortable asking questions.
Do you provide NDIS support?
Yes, Beyond the Tide welcomes self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants seeking counselling support.
Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and goals, providing a compassionate, person-centred space to explore challenges, build confidence and support your emotional wellbeing.
Counselling services are available via telehealth, subject to your NDIS plan and funding eligibility.
What happens during the first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore what has brought you to counselling.
We'll talk about what you're hoping to gain from our sessions, any challenges you may be experiencing, and how I can best support you. There's no pressure to share everything straight away. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, creating a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and supported.
How do I book a session?
Booking a session is simple. You can book directly through the online booking system or get in touch with me if you have any questions before getting started.
I offer flexible online appointments, making it easier to find a time that fits around your life and commitments.
Taking the first step towards counselling can sometimes feel daunting, and I'm here to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible.
If you have any further questions or would like to discuss how I can support you, please feel free to reach out. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for your personal journey and growth.
What is your cancellation policy?
I understand that sometimes life doesn't go to plan and appointments need to be changed.
Private Counselling
I kindly request at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a $50 fee. If you do not attend your appointment without providing notice, 50% of the session fee will be charged.
NDIS Counselling
For NDIS-funded appointments, I request at least two clear business days' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Short-notice cancellations and missed appointments may incur a fee of up to 100% of the agreed session cost, in accordance with the applicable NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and your service agreement.
